Dingell Renews Appeal for Israel;
Quotes Editorial From Jewish News For Bond Efforts

Congresman John D. Dingell,
in another strong statement in-
corporated in the .2ongressional
Record, makes a plea for
assistance to Israel and for de-
fensive arms to the Jewish
State.
In the course of his statement,
he declared: "The time to act
is now. The price of delay will
be too high to bear."
"Time • is very short," he
added. "The Secretary of State
must make a strong statement
of policy that we tolerate no
changes in the status quo.. We
must ship Israel the arms she
needs without delay. America

must recognize its responsibility
to preserve a foothold of de-
mocracy in a hostile feudal
land."
Supplementing his statement,
Rep. Dingell inserted in the
Congressional Record the full
text of The Jewish News edi-
torial, "The Anti-Israel Game
Must End," from our issue of
March 16.
