Both Violet Toth and Harvey
Seigel proved their proficiency
as soloists to a • near-capacity
audience at the Center Sym-
phony Pop Concert last Sunday
afternoon at the Davison Branch.
It is regrettable that Miss
Toth has adopted a somewhat
theatrical style of grimacing and
flailing her arms at- the piano,
for her playing of Weber's,Piano
Concerto, Op. 79, was most pleas-
ing to the ear, but disturbing
to the eye.
In Saint-Saene Rondo Capri-
ccios°, Harvey Seigel displayed
excellent technique and under-
standing of the demanding score,
which' he performed with a
subtle fluency. .
The Concerto for Four Violins
by. Vivaldi provided an excel-
lent vehicle for four of the
Symphony's younger members,
Isidor Saslov, Inez Hollinger,
David C e r one and Kenneth
