METZGER-HOFFMAN. Carol
Lee Hoffman, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Sol Hoffman, of Oak
Dr., was married March 18 in
a ceremony at Temple Israel
to Morton Stanley Metzger, son
of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Feldman,
of Manderson Rd. Dr. Leon
Frain officiated.
The bride was gowned in im-
ported silk taffeta with fitted
44 bodice and bouffant skirt, both
fashioned with Brussells lace
insets. She wore a fingertip veil
of tulle which was held in place
by a cap of matching lace. She
carried an ivory and gold Bible,
which belonged to her mother's
great grandmother, Mrs. Bertha
Green. It was adorned with
white orchids and stephanotis.
• Miriam Reitman was maid of
honor, and bridesmaids were
Nancy Hoffman, the bride's
sister, and Andrea Waxman,
niece of the bridegroom. Clif-
ford Feldman was his brother's
best • man, and ushers were
Michael Hoffman, the bride's
brother, Merwin, Cohn, C. Ed-
ward Hornung, Jerrold Fried-
man, Dr. Melvin Reinhart and
Jerald Tuchow.
After an extended wedding

young - couple will be at home
at 711 Merton.

The marriage of Billie (Winkle-
man) Kurlander and Jack A.
Gottlieb, of Los Angeles, was
solemnized on March 18. The
couple is residing at 418 N.
Palm Dr., Beverly Hills, Calif.

SCHLESINGER-BERICK. Eil-
een Berick, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Joseph Berick, of W.
Grand Ave., became the bride
of Murton M. Schlesinger, - son
of Mrs. -Jean Klein Schlesinger
and the late Mr.' Schlesinger, in
a ceremony March 25, at which
Rabbi Min•rd Klein officiated.
The bride was attended by
Marilyn Amdur, and the bride-
groom was served by his broth-
er, Tom Schlesinger, and Carl
B. Paysner. The newlyweds
have left for England where
they will reside for the next
few years.

Hapoel Hamizrachi Group
Schedules Passover Outing
Chazon Group of Hapoel
Hamizrachi will hold a Pass-
over outing, featuring a potato
roast, at 9 p.m., Saturday. The
group will leave from the or-
ganization's office, 12244 Dex-
ter, and go to River Rouge
Park. In case of inclement
weather, an alternate program
is planned.

The Detroit Council of Pio-
neer Women will observe World
Jewish Child's Day on Wednes-
day, with a children's fund-rais-
ing donor party at 2 p.m., in the
Labor Zionist Institute, 19161
Schaefer.
Each child attending will
bring a coin book filled with $3,
the idea being that the young-
sters will feel they are con-
tributing positively toward the
upbuilding of Israel.
All funds are used to bring
children from North Africa and
Middle Eastern countries to the
Jewish state.
The afternoon's program will
include Fanny Aronson's danc-
ing classes, `Magician Charles

MRS. LEON HERSCHFUS

In a candlelight ceremony at
Holiday Manor, Feb. 16, Ray-
etta Harris, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Maurice Harris, of Webb
Ave., was united in marriage to
Dr. Leon Herschfus, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Chuna Herschfus, of
New -York. Rabbi Samuel Prero
and Cantor Hyman-Adler offici-
ated.
The bride -chose a gown of
white imporled Chantilly lace
and nylon tulle over satin.
Illusion filled the decolletage
of .a bridal basque in patterned
lace. Flames of the lace framed
the neckline, then reached into
her floor-swept skirt of nylon
tulle. A fingertip veil of white
illusion fell from her crown
of seed pearls.
Mrs. Louis Harris, sister-in-
law of the bride, was her matron
of honor. Barbara Linda Harris,
the bride's niece, and Faye
Grajower, the bridegroom's
niece from, New York, were
junior bridesmaids. Guita Ep-
stein, another niece of the bride-
groom from New York, was
flower, girl. '
Dr. J. Aaron Herschfus, of
Sharon, Mass., was his brother's
best man. Avrum Harris, neph-
ew of the bride, and Moshe
Grajower, nephew of the-bride-
groom, were junior ushers.
Louis Harris, the bride's broth-
er, and her aunt, Mrs. Joseph
Bienenstock, seated the guests.
The new Mrs. Herschfus is a
graduate of Wayne University,
where she received her BA in
pre-social work and her teach-
ing certificate. Dr. Herschfus is
a graduate of the University of
Michigan, is on the staffs of two
hospitals and does research at
Mount Carmel Mercy Hospital.
On their return from Miami
Beach, Fla., the couple will take
up residence in Franklin Knolls,
Farmington, Mich.- ,

The annual election of officers
and board members of the Beth
.Aaron Sisterhood will be held
at 12:30 p.m., April 9, in the
synagogue social hall, announces
Mrs. Irving Chaiken, president.
The meeting will highlight the
presentation of the Solomon
Shechter Award of the Jewish
Theological Seminary for the
Sisterhood's "outstanding
achievement in the field of Tor-
ah Fund participation."
Rabbi Benjamin H. Gorrelick
will present the award to Mes-
dames Sol Docks and Milton
Harris, last year's Torah Fund
chairmen.
Following the award cere-
mony, Mesdames Sidney Wein-
berg and Adolph Winkler, this
year's Torah Fund chairmen,
will report on current activities.
The film, "Diary of Ann Frank,"

Workmen's Circle has invited
the public to attend its tradi-
tional third seder,' to be held
at 8:30 p.m., today, in the Circle
Center, 11529 'Linwood.
The program will include Re-

sky in songs of the modern
Hagadah. School children will
be featured in the reading of
