Herut Leader Beigin '
Urges 'Preventive War

AVIV (JTA) —Menahem
Beigin, head of the Herut Party,
has called for an immediate
preventive war by Israel before
the Arab states become mili-
tarily strong enough to over-
power Israel.
Addressing a national confer-
ence of the right-wing party,
Israel's second strongest, Mr.
Beigin said that the "tragic
moment" was near when Israel's
enemies will possess operational
superiority in view of the con-
tinuous supply of weapons ar-
riving in the Arab countries. He
revealed that at the forthcom-
ing World Zionist Congress, to
be held in Jerusalem next
month, his party would issue a
call to Jewish youth from all
countries to come to Israel's
"rescue."
