A delegation of Detroiters will

who is supervising the art ex-
hibition at Temple Israel, will
accompany the Detroit delega-
tion, headed by Charles E. Fein-
berg.
The painting, a gift Of 10
Detroiters, will be placed perm-
anently in the Michigan State
Capital.
Miss Mann announced that
the exhibition, at Temple Is-
_ rael, has been extended by
popular request to next Fri-
day, March 16.
A number of 'lectures were
given by Miss Mann to visiting
groups. ORT, Nordau Chapter
of the Zionist Organization and
,several Christian groups heard
her explanations of the art
works on display, at special
gatherings this week.

Julius Mehler

Hal Lehrman, foreign cor-
respondent and author, will be
the featured speaker Monday,'
6:30 p.m. at the Statler Hotel
at the annual food service coun-
cil dinner in behalf of the Al-
lied Jewish Campaign, Hugo
Slotkin and Julius Mehler, din-
ner chairmen, announced.
Sletkin, who, with Mehler;
has enrolled more than 100
members of the division • as
sponsors for the affair, noted
that the dinner has come to be
a traditional evening of good
fellowship for the men in the
food industry, as well as an op-
portunity to help complete the
fund-raising job of the division
in a way that saves time for
its busy members.
Lehrman is known for his
authoritative • reporting on the
Middle East and the Iron Cur-
tain Countries. He is the author

Junior Hadassah Votes
On Regional Officers

Two Detroit members of
Junior Hadassah were elected
to regional offices of the or-
ganization at the recent Central
States Regional Conference held
here.
They are Sarah JOhnson, who
was elected a vice-president,
and Linda Schwartz, who was
voted a secretary. Other new
officers are Barbara Gindy,
Cleveland, president; Shirley
S c h u l in a n, Louisville, vice-
president; and Carol Ketron,
Cleveland, secretary.'

Division, American Jewish Con-
gress, will be held March 21,
at the Elmwood Casino, in
Windsor, it is announced this
week by Mrs. William Burk,
president.
A traditional social event, the
program celebrates the birthday
of Rabbi Stephen S. Wise, foun-
der of the AJ Congress. Pro-
ceeds go to support the Louise
Waterman Wise Youth Center in
Jerusalem.
The evening will begin with
dinner at 6:45, p.m., followed
by dancing and a floor show,
headed by comedian Morey
Amsterdam, states Mrs: Sidney
Michals, chairman.
Other arrangements are being
handled by Mesdames Marshall
Brenner, Myron Cole and Nor-
man Silverstein. The community
is invited.
The Jerusalem Center pro-
vides lodging and meals for
young people from all over
Israel who. are brought there for
two-week courses in creative
arts and citizenship, designed
to train future citizens in the
responsibilities and functions of
a democracy.
Events planned this week by
Congress chapters include a
meeting of Northeast at 8:30
p.m., Wednesday, in the home
of Mrs. Elias Goldberg, 1860
Balmoral.
A fashion show will be fol-
lowed by a Passover dessert
contest, for which husbands of
members will serve as judges,
