In Detroit to help celebrate the recent Bar Mitzvah of
Martin Laker, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Laker, of 19330 Mar-
lowe, were Dr. and Mrs. Harold Laker, of. Toledo, 0.; Messrs.
and Mesdames Benjamin Laker, of Toronto, Ont.; Jack Tobias
and son, Joseph, of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and I. Derfel, of Boston,
Mass.; and Mr. Jack Schoolsky, of New York City. Martin's Bar
Mitzvah was observed at Cong. Ahavas Achim, and a dinner
and reception in his honor were held at Cong. Shaarey Zedek.
Part of the festivities included a dance in which four generations
of the family danced about Mrs. Sarah Laker, Martin's grand-
mother from Windsor.
Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Temchin, of Sturtevant Ave., flew last
week to Israel where they will remain about three months.
Mr. and Mrs. Emil Fruchter, of Vassar Dr., flew last week to
Brussels, Belgium, where they will spend several days with
relatives before continuing on to Israel.
Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Adinoff, of Port Huron, Mich., have
left for Los Angeles, Calif., where they will visit their son and
family, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Adinoff and daughters.
Cantor and Mrs. Jacob Tambor tendered a farewell- party
last Monday for Cantor and Mrs. Anton Rosenfeld, who left this
week for a vacation in Florida. Among the guests present were
the members of the Cantors' Association of Detroit.
The scheduled departure of Rabbi Chaim Meisels and family
to New York has been delayed. Meanwhile, the Meisels family
has taken up residence at 3202 Cortland.
Mrs. Celia Pollock, of 16597 Parkside, recently returned
home after spending the winter with her children, Mr. and. Mrs.
Dwight Lee Pollock, of Los Angeles, Calif.

starring Leon Janney. The story
is about an American Jew who
returns to his native land in
Europe on Passover and finds
a wife who will keep his home
in the tradition he practices.

will lead in the singing of
Passover songs. Mrs. Samuel
Stulberg w ill accompany him
on . the piano. Program co-
chairmen are Mesdames Louis
Tatken and George C. Parzen.

of Dr. Norman Paul Willett, son
of Mr. and Mrs. Max Willett, of
Demarest, N. J. Rabbi Hayim
Donin and Cantor Hyman Adler

Mrs. Herbert Kaufman, the
bride's sister, Mrs. Leonard
Efros, her sister-in-law, Linda

Following a honeymoon in

take up residence in Brighton,
Mass. Dr. Willett is a faculty
member at Harvard University,
in Boston. The new Mrs. Willett
will continue her studies at
Boston University where she
will be a senior in the college
of liberal arts, majoring in so-
ciology.
