This week even the Cottlers'
specials will be 'special.
Norman and Reuben Cottler,
who operate the Dexter-Davi-
son Markets, at 13301 Dexter
and 18207 Wyoming, are cele-
brating the fifth anniversary of
the opening of their store in
the Wyoming-Curtis Shopping
Center, by offering special bar-
gains, above and beyond their
usual weekly savings.
•
The anniversary prices will
be in effect at both stores, "as
a way of showing our apprecia-
tion to our / customers for their
many years of patronage,"
say the Cottlers.
The original Dexter-Davison
Market, on Dexter and Waverly,
a block from Davison, has been
in business for over 25 years.
It was at this store that Cottler's
slogan, "Where Old Friends
Meet to Shop," was started. It
carried over when-the Wyoming
store opened in 1951.
More than reminisce, Cottler
says he has planned a big year
with bigger savings for his cus-
tomers and better services.
The next major step will be
the, opening this year of a third
Dexter-Davison Market, this
one in Oak Park.
The new market, Cottler said,.
will be located in• the hub of a
shopping center to be erected

on Coolidge (Schaefer) and 10
Mile Rd.
The Cottlers believe that solid
business practice is based on
giving the consumer what he
or she wants at the lowest pos-
sible price. "Give a customer
the lowest price in town," they
added, "and he doesn't need
any premiums or other gim-
micks."
They are active in many
communal organizations, in-
cluding the Labor- Zionist Or-
ganization, Histadrut, Jewish,
National Fund and Israel
Bond's.
