Allied Veterans Council

Mrs. Morris Lupiloff was this
week re-elected to serve a sec-
ond term as president of the
Allied Veterans Ladies Coun
cil. The organiaztion comprises
officers and delegates of 32 af-
filiated veterans groups.
Mrs. Lupiloff is a member of
the Lt. Eli Levin Auxiliary of
the Jewish

The AVC Auxiliary is con-

Offers First Bazaar

Mo'os Hitim' Committee, an-
nounces a meeting of the board
and rabbinical advisory commit-
tee at 8:30 p.m., Wednesday at

Reports will be heard on the
financial situation, the number
of cases requiring Passover as-
sistance and the amount of each
grant to be given. Those in the

on the committee or contribute
funds toward its work are in-

The first annual bazaar spon-
sored by Detroit Chapter, Bnai
Brith, will be held from 11 a.m.
to 11 p.m., Wednesday, at Holi-
day Manor.
Preparations for the event are
being made by the Chapter's
work-shops, which were started
only this year and include such
categories as arts and crafts,
fashion and home decoration,
cooking, golf, bridge and art
and mu is appreciation.
Each work-shop will man a
booth, besides which there will
be booths run by many commer-
cial firms; paintings by artists
Sam Fields, Ross Sollenberger
and Mr. and Mrs. William Lew-
Is; and ceramics by Kay Harri-
son.
Among the prizes to be award-
ed are a weekend trip to Sam-
son's Resort in South Haven
and gifts of clothing from par-

To Greet New Members
With Fashion Show - .

Amid a "Spring Symphony. of
Fashions," the Greater Detroit
Bnai Brith Women's Council
will install new members in a
program to be held at 7:30 p.m.,
March 19, at Adas Shalom Syn-
agogue.
The fashion show, by Irving's
of Detroit and Grosse Pointe,
will be narrated by Leif Ber-
gan, Irving's fashion coordina-
tor. Professional models will
show the new-
est creations in
the Synagogue
Social Hall,
which will be
decorated by
Mrs. Betty Ma-
toff.
Mrs.. Louis L.
Perlman, na-
tional presi-
dent of the
Women's Su-
preme Council, Mrs. Perlman
will be featured as guest speak
er. Also on the program will be
the Bnai Brith Women's Choral
Group, directed by Mrs. David
Holtzman and under the chair-
manship of Mrs. Arthur Mon-
son.
The initiation ritual, member-
ship awards and the presenta-
tion of charters to new chapters
will follow. According to Mrs.
David Grosberg, Council mem-
bership chairman, the affair is
open by invitation only to new
members and present members
who brought in at least two new
members.
Mrs. Perlman, who helped to
found the Bnai Brith Youth
Commission and has served on
its executive committee and 'as a
commissioner since 1944, has
been honored with a BBYO
scholarship fund in her name,
and is an honorary life mem-
ber of AZA.

She received a citation from
the U.S. Treasury. Department
for peace time efforts, and in
1947 was granted the govern-
ment's Legion of Honor award.
