her cousin, Mordecai, with the
king, thus prevents Haman
from carrying but his plan, and
the holiday ends in great joy
and celebration with the saving
of the Jews.
The holiday's theme will be
carried out with the reading of
the Megillah (the Scroll - of
Esther) in our synagogues Sat-
urday evening, with plays and
masquerades in our religious
schools and special programs by
many communal groups.

regular listings of the sabbath
services, are the Purim pro-
grams 'planned by our syna-
gogues, their affiliate groups
and religious schools.

dren will dress in costumes,
will sing Purim songs and have a
Shushan- parade, and will pre-
sent a pantomime of the holi-
day.
Elementary grades will par-
ticipate in a festival at 4:30
p.m., Monday, in the auditor-
ium. Reading the Megillah in
HebreW and Yiddish, poems,
songs and recitations will be
highlighted. The older children
will present Sholern Aleichem's
"Tzvei Shalach Monos." Prizes
for the best costumes will be
given. Parents and members of
the movement are invited.
A dessert luncheon is planned
by mothers of nursery and
grade schol children at 1 p.m.,
WedneSday, in the Institute.
