CHILDREN'S FEET
HURT BY WRONG SHOES
"Pumps for , Spring will
be sought by most buyers of
children's shoes, despite mis-
givings by some as to the
effects of these on the health
of small feet." So went the
story of Footwear News for
Nov. 25. Under a Worchester,
Mass. dateline, the story con-
tinued, "If they refuse to
sell them, they drive their
customers to another store
and the 'crusade for foot
health' will have been in
vain."
Despite
the great
number of
style - con-
scious moth-
: ers who in-
sist on
harmful
styles for
Rollins their child—
shoes which by their nature
cannot be fitted correctly—
there are a n u b e r of
shoe firms which do very
well without resort to foot-
deforming extreme styles. A
prime example is the Hack
Shoe Co., now . in its 40th
year, which consistently re-
fuses to sell wrong, hurtful
types.
"We carry only shoes that
are good for children's feet,"
said Bud Rollins, manager
of Hack's store at 19360
Livernois, "And look at how
we're growing! This proves
that there are far more par-
ents who are interested in
giving their children the
right start in life."
