The annual appeal of the
Mo'os Hitim Organization of
Detroit, for Passover funds for
needy Jewish families here, has
been issued in the form of a
letter sent to individuals in the
community, under the signa-
ture of Harry Cohen, president.
Mo'os Hitim, an organization
over 50-years-old locally, follows
the Jewish tradition of supply-
ing fundamental needs for the
Passover holiday to needy mem-
b e r s of the community who
otherwise could not afford the
special foods which make up
the Passover table.
Names of • families are sup-
plied by city and county social
agencies and by service groups
and private organizations work-
ing within the community.
The committee states that
each name is cleared to avoid
any duplication, and that all
families helped are kept in con-
fidence. Last year nearly 500
Jewish families were served by
Mo'os Hitim.

Checks for food and matzo
orders are mailed to the families
two weeks prior to Passover.
The amount of money available
determines the distribution.
Officers of Mo'os Hitim who
were recently elected are -Harry
Cohen, president; David Zack,
Meyer Shugerman and Mrs.
Paul Deutch, vice-presidents;
Harry M. Shulman, treasurer;
and Mesdames Maurice Garelik
and Joseph Markel, secretaries.
Those wishing to work for or
send contributions to the organ-
ization, should contact Cohen,
3220 W. Boston, or the organi-
zation's office, 13327 Linwood.

It's Smart to Save
Where It's MORE Profitable!

All of us try to get the best value for every dollar we spend. Why

not apply the same wisdom to the money we save? An account

at American Savings earns 2Y2 per cent, a higher-than-average

rate—makes savings easier to keep intact—less tempting to

withdraw. Remember, too, at American Savings, funds received

by the 10th, earn from the 1st of the month. Naturally it's smart

to "Save the American Way"—because it's more more profitable.
