Detroit Chapter of Hadassah
has designated January as
Minyan Month, with members
asked to become minyan
mothers, thus serving in the
rescue work of Youth Aliyah.
Youth Aliyah, an Hadassah
spokesman pointed out, seeks
at this time to bring 45,000 Jew-
ish children now in North Afri-
can ghettos into the state of
Israel. .
Minyan mothers will be hon-
ored by the Detroit Chapter at
a series of group meetings, to
be held as follows, at 12:30
p.m., Feb. 14:

Mrs. Sidney Jackson, presi-
dent of the Music Study Club,
this week announced that final
plans are being made for the
group's annual Artist Concert,
to be held Feb. 28, in the De-
troit Institute of Arts.
Joel Rosen, a gifted young
pianist, who has achieved recog-
nition here, in Cleveland and
New York's Town Hall, will be
the guest artist.
One of the principal projects
of the Music Study Club has
been launching young musicians
on their careers. Through funds
raised at the concert, the Sylvia
Simons Memorial Scholarship
Fund is able to assist young
musicians of outstanding talent.
