U. of M. Staff Member To 'Meet the Press' Rites Held fan. 15
A community-wide program
is planned by the League of
Jewish Women's Organization
on Feb. 13, at Beth Aaron
Synagogue, according to Mrs.
Philip Bernstein, League presi-
dent. Members of the Beth
Aaron Sisterhood will be hos-
tesses at a dessert luncheon to
precede the meeting.
MISS LILLIAN CICUREL
Mr. and Mrs. Salvator Cicurel,
former Detroiters now of Miami
Beach, Fla., announce the en-
gagement of their daughter,
Lillian, to Gerald Levin, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Levin, of
Chicago, Ill.
Miss Cicurel holds a bache-
lor's degree in business admin-
istration and a secondary teach-
ing certificate from the Univer-
sity of Michigan. She is a mem-
ber and national chairman of
Phi Chi Theta, professional bus-
iness sorority.
Her fiance received a master's
degree from the University of
Chicago, and holds a PhD in
English from U. of M. A faculty
member at U. of M., he is as-
sociated with the Modern Lan-
guage Association and the Eng-
lish Journal Club.
The couple is planning a June
wedding in Detroit.
Set April 10 Date
Highlight of the program will
be a "Meet the Press" panel,
which will interview I. D. Unna,
Vice-Consul of Israel in the
Midwest ULited States.
He will be questioned by
Frank Angelo, managing editor
of The Detroit Free Press; Jack
Manning, Detroit Times editor;
Russell Barnes, foreign affairs
analyst of The Detroit News;
and Philip Slomovitz, editor of
The Jewish News. Albert Ela-
zar, superintendent of the
United Hebrew Schools, will be
moderator.
Mrs. Philip Fealk, chairman
of the program, states that Mrs.
Bernstein, who is currently in
New York to attend the annual
meeting of the National Federa-
tion of Jewish Women's Or-
ganizations, will also speak.
Names of candidates for the

Memorial Youth Awards, spon-
sored by the League, are cur-
rently being accepted by Mrs.
Robert Coggan, awards chair-

appreciation series.
Chajes will be heard in his
own Piano Concerto in E during
the final half of the concert, a
tribute to the Jewish Music Fes-
tival. Also included on the pro-
gram will be Beethoven's Over-
ture to "Coriolan," and Schu-
bert's Symphony No. 5 in B-flat
Major.

In a double ring ceremony
solemnized by candlelight on
Jan. 15 in the Crystal Ballroom
of the Sheraton-Cadillac Hotel,
Judith Aline Matthews, daugh-
ter of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin
Matthews, of Victoria Ave.,
Windsor, became the bride of
Philip David Weisman, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Simon H. Weis-
man, of Leslie Ave.
Rabbi Samuel S. Stoilman, of
Windsor, and Rabbi: Morris Ad-
ler officiated.
The bride wore a princess
line bridal gown of old ivory
Italian silk taffeta, highlighted
by an emperor bodice and por-
trait neckline and adorned with
re-embroidered motifs of hand
run Alencon lace, which was
also appliqued over the bodice.
The sleeves were accented by
long kid gloves.
The bouffant, floor length
skirt extended into a cathedral
train with a deep ruffle ap-
pliqued in the same motif as
the hand run Alencon lace and
later caught into a bustle. Her
two tiered, fingertip veil of
ivory silk illusion was caught
to her head by a crown of heir-
loom orange blossoms. She car
ried a bouquet of stephanotis,
white spray orchids and a re-
movable orchid corsage.
Mrs. H e n r y S. Muroff, the
bride's sister, was matron of
honor, and Phyllis Sosnick was
maid of honor. The bridesmaids
included Mrs. Max Isberg, the
bridegroom's sister, E s t her
Adelson, Harriett Cohen, Lorie
Weingarden, M r s. Eugene
Freund, Marsha Ellenson and
Marlene Stone. Miriam Muroff,
the bride's niece, and Brooke
Sue Isberg, the bridegroom's
niece, were flower girls.
Stuart Fenton served as best
man, and the ushers included
Sidney Matthews, Henry Mur-
off, Bob Abram, Seymour Rob-
erts, Gilbert Greenbaum, Henry
Baskin and Sheldon Otis.
Following a dinner and re-
ception the couple enplaned for
a honeymoon to Jamaica and
Miami Beach. On their return,
they will reside on Votrobeck
Drive.
