hood, announces that the annual
doner luncheon will be held at
12:30 p.m., Wednesday, in the
synagogue social hall.

Katchke is

chairman of the event, which
will be highlighted by the pre-
sentation of "Romany Ro-
mance," an operetta of the
Gypsy music of Emerich Kal-
man.

At a recent ceremony at
Cong. Bnai Moshe, Marilyn
Harriett Klein, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. David Klein, of Mon-
ica Ave., became the bride of
A/2C Saul Grodman, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Abraham Grod-
man, of Elmhurst Ave.
The bride wore a colonial
style gown of ivory satin
blended with chantilly lace
and a sweetheart neckline with
a pointed bodice. The skirt was
full, with panels of lace falling
into a. cathedral train. The
sleeves of the lace were pointed
over the wrists.
Her two tiered veil of nylon
net fingertip illusion was held
in place by a half crown of
seed pearls with scattered
rhinestones. The veil reached
the bride's waist. She carried a
Bible adorned with white or
chids and stephancitis.
Attending the bride were
Mrs. Judith Grodman as mat-
ron-of-honor, sister-in-law of
the bridegroom; Loretta Klein,
sister of the bride as maid-of-
honor. Bridesmaids were Laura
Pomerantz, Mollie Goldfarb,
and Carol Popkins.
T h e bridegroom's brother,
Leonard Grodman, served as
best man, and ushers were
Julian Klein and Herbert Klein,
brothers of the bride, and Hy
Dolinka.
The bride's cousins, Elizabeth
Schlesinger and Linda Phillips,
served as flower girls. Jerry
Friedman, also a cousin of the
bride, was the ring bearer.
Out of town guests came
from Long Beach and Los An-
geles, Calif., Flint, Lansing and
Grand Rapids.
Following a dinner reception
the couple left for a honeymoon
in New York and Niagara Falls.
They are now residing in Co-
lumbus, where the bridegroom
is stationed in the Air Force.

Pythian Groups Induct
Their New Officers

Manuel Mackie was installed
as chancellor commander of the
Detroit Lodge, Knights of Py-
thias, and Frieda Willner was
inducted as most excellent
chief of the Pythian Sisters, at
recent ceremonies.
Opening ceremonies were
conducted by outgoing chan-
cellor commander Ted Pines,
and installing officers were Irv-
ing Aran, past chancellor, and
Mary Goldsmith, past chief.
Assisting were Leonard Gold-
man, Emil Raskin, Elsie Green
and Winnie Aran.
Other Lodge officers installed
were Henry Willner, vice-
chancellor; Irving Gendelman,
prelate; Ted Pines, master of
work; Philip. Eisner, secretary;
Joe Mossok, treasurer; Ray Un-
ger, master at arms; Lou
Bindes, inner • guard and Harry
Rose, outer -guard.
Officers of the Pythian Sisters
inducted included, besides Mrs.
Willner, Lenor Pines, excellent
senior; Sylvia Rose, excellent
junior; Rebecca Weinstein,
manager; Mary Lorber, sec-
retary; Freda Weisman, treas-
urer; Ceil Bindes, protector;
Lillian Ertz, guard; and Gussie
Klein, pianist.
