WILLIAM FREEDMAN and
Oscar Rappaport paid a recent
visit' to new home of Mr. and
Mrs. Fred Abernethy on Muir-
land Ave., and were being shown
through the house . . . They had
already noticed a Mezuzah on
the' front door, and discovered
another one at the bedroom en-
trance, although the Abernethys
are Catholic . . . While Bill and
Oscar wondered, it was ex-
plained that the Mezuzahs were
left by the previous occupants,
and were kept there . .. Their
priest had visited them and see-
ing a Mezuzah on the front door,
agreed that it should remain,
saying, "Don't take it down. It
was on Our Lord's door, too."

THIS YEAR, professional tal-
ent will be combined with the

Infant Service Group dinner-
dance and show, Jan. 22, at Ma-
sonic Temple . . . Step Brothers,
top dancing team, will headline
the shoW, and, of course the fine
Infant Service Group review,
again directed by Eleanor Rise-
man, with choreography by Bill
Richards.
*
FRANK ADELL left to spend
the week-end doing a bit of
skiing at Boyne Mountain in
Boyne City . . . He was just out-
side of West Branch when Mich-
igan - State troopers stopped his
car and took Frank into custody
without giving any reason . . . It
all turned out more or less as a
joke and a -big favor- to Frank,
who had left home without- his
skiing equipment . . . Assistant
Prosecutor Morrie Gruskin put
in a radio 'call to the troopers
to hold Frank until brother
Mary arrived with the necessary
skiing equipment he had left
behind.
