ZOA Leaders Ask
Arms for Israel

LONDON (JTA)—The World
Zionist Executive was urged, by
the Zionist Federation of Brit-
ain, to delay its decision on the
date of the forthcoming World
Zionist Congress until the ex-
ecutive's next meeting Jan. 25.
If that is not possible, the Brit-
ish group said, then it would
abide by the majority decision
to hold the Congress in April.
The Federation's statement
said that the solidarity of Jews
abroad with Israel was such that
there was no need to hold a
congress to rally it, nor to in-
form world Jewry of something
it already knows: that Israel's
security situation is grave.
But, the statement continues,
the congress must allow ample
time to consider the problems of
the world Zionist movement and
cannot put off consideration of
them for another four years, as
it did in 195•; nor can these
problems be given curs or y
treatment "sandwiched between
speches" on Israels' security.
The statement suggested that

Israel and would thus allow the
convening of the world congress
at its "proper time and to fulfill
its proper tasks."
