ADULTS at a convention last
week, in Chicago. They are

MRS. BEN J. FRIEDMAN

The marriage of Annie Guyer,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Abram
Guyer, of Appoline Ave., and
Ben J. Friedman, son of Mrs.
Mary Friedman and the late Mr.
Max Friedman, was solemnized
Dec. 25, at Holiday Manor. Rabbi
Benjamin H. Gorrelick and Can-
tor Judah Goldring officiated.
The bride chose a gown of

neckline and long pointed
sleeves. The skirt fell into a
cathedral train. Her tiered veil of
silk illusion was secured to a
tiny cap of satin appliqued with
seed pearls. She carried a Bible
and two orchids.
Attending the bride were Mrs.
Nelson Dembs, the bridegroom's
sister, as matron of honor, and
Sima Holzer, of Tel Aviv, Israel,
Aida Guyer, Anne Feldman and
Barbara Eisenberg, as brides-
maids. Marcia Dembs was junior
bridesmaid.
Eli Friedman, the bridegroom's
brother, was his best man, while
ushering were Martin Guyer, the
bride's brother, Bernard Mintz
and Raymond Berk. Dan Guyer,
another brother of the bride, was
junior usher.
Following dinner and a recep-
tion, the couple left for a honey-
moon in New York City. Out-of-
town guests attending the cere-
mony came from Tel Aviv,
Chicago, Montreal and Washing-
ton, D. C.

Community Camps Have
Openings for Counselors

Several openings for summer
camp activities sponsored by the
community have been announced
recently. •
Nathan L. Milstein, president
of the Fresh Air Society, advises
that cabin counselors, craft spe-
cialists, nature specialists, dram-
atic, dancing and music instruc-
tors and waiters are needed at
both Camp Tamarack, in Holly,
Mich., and Fresh Air Camp, near
Brighton.
• Harry Jones, chairman of the
Jewish Community Center camp-
ing committee, also announced
that openings are available for
Summer Day Camp counselors.

Pioneer-Women
To Open Month's
Histadrut Effort

The Detroit Council of Pioneer
Women have set aside a month
—from Jan. 15 to Feb. 15—for
participation in the Detroit His-
tadrut Campaign.
Mrs. Manual Zak, chairman,
and Mrs. Robert Wolok, co-chair-
of the
Council's H i s -
tadrut commit-
tee, have been
meeting regular-
ly with chapter
r e p resentatives
to achieve maxi-
mum contribu-
tions.
Mrs. Zak, in
calling attention

to the present
emergency situation in Israel,
stated that for 30 years Pioneer
Women have worked untiringly
to build a Jewish state. She added
that "Israel must be strengthened
through increased contributions
to the Histadrut Campaign."
As a major part of the month's
activity, a dessert luncheon for
the local, Campaign will be held
at 12:30 p.m., Jan. 23, at Holiday
Manor.
Mrs. Esther Zackler, national
board member of Pioneer Wom-
en from Chicago, will be guest
speaker. Entertainment will be
provided by members of the
Sharona Chapter Vocal Group.
The public is invited to attend.

Home Relief Society
Elects Mrs. Tauber

MRS. STUART FALK

Lois Ruth Ash became the bride
of Stuart Falk at a candlelight
ceremony performed Dec. 18, at
Temple Israel. The bride's parents
are Mr. and Mrs. Harold Ash, of
Woodingham Dr. Mr. Falk is the
son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Falk,
of W. Boston Blvd.
The bride's gown of skinner
satin was trimmed with tiny seed
pearls. Her illusion veil was
secured to her head by a Juliet
cap of matching pearls, and she
crried white orchids atop a white
Bible.
Attending her sister as maid of
honor was Phyllis Ash, while
bridesmaids included her cousin,
Elaine Ash, Phyllis Altman, Mrs.
Charles Weingarten and Mrs.
Marvin Primack.
Sheldon Roven was the bride-
groom's best man, and ushers
were Jay Kutinsky, Sherwin
Fishman, Donald Samson and
Robert Friedlander.
Following a honeymoon in
Florida, the couple will reside in
Ann Arbor, where both attend
the University of Michigan Den-
tal School.
Out-of-town guests came from
Long Beach, Calif., New York
City, Pittsburgh, Pa., Chicago, Ill.,
Flint and Bay City.
