Give to Special UJA Fund—Now

The Jewish Welfare Federation has issued an urgent call
to action to Detroit Jewry in behalf of Israel.
Specifically, the appeal is for Israel's defense—to keep
her gates open, to make her secure, to provide for her em-
battled people the aid that is so pressingly needed NOW—
IMMEDIATELY.
The call from the Allied Jewish Campaign and the Jewish
Welfare Federation is for payments on pledges made to the
1955 campaign and for additional gifts towards the national
United Jewish Appeal minimum special fund of $25,000,000.
Our community has-assumed an obligation of $1,230,000
as our share towards this special UJA fund. The urgent needs
of the hour demand prompt action in response to this call,
prompt payments on our pledges and immediate gifts towards
the special fund.
Give to the special fund—as additional gifts to the UJA,
NOW, and pay up your pledge to the Allied Jewish Campaign
IMMEDIATELY. It will be our way of saying to Israel that
we are upholding the hands of her citizens who are striving
to retain their independence and to continue to build a
bastion for democracy in the Middle East.
