Mr. and Mrs. Richard Tischler, of Hendrie Blvd., Huntington
Woods, Mich., recently tendered a surprise dinner party in honor of
Mrs. Tischler's parents, Mr. and Mrs. I. Hoffman, on the occasion
Of their 54th wedding anniversary. Participating in the event were
the Hoffman's other children, Mr. and Mrs. James Silverstone, Mr.
and Mrs. Herman Dictor and Mrs. J. Blau and grandchildren.
Miss Doris Passell, of 16178 Ilene, has returned from a nine-
week trip to Europe and Israel. Leaving Sept. 2, aboard the SS
'United States, Miss Passell toured England, Belgium, Holland,
France, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Greece and Israel, before
flying home from Madrid.
11kr. and Mrs. Bernard Fredenthal (Sylvia Diamondstone) and
children, Lisa and Paul, formerly of Richton Ave., are now residing
in their new home at 18256 MacArthur.
Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Alan Nathan, of Sorrento Ave., are spend-
ing the holidays in St. Louis, Mo., where they are visiting relatives.

The Crystal Ballroom of the
Sheraton - Cadillac Hotel was
transformed into a chapel for
the Dec. 7 wedding of Gail Ann
Keywell and Richard David
Owen. Dr. Richard C. Hertz offi-
ciated.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Barney'Lewis'Key-
well, of 19580 Shrewsbury. Mr.
Owen is the son. of Mr. and Mrs.
Gilbert Owen, of Picadilly Rd. •
The bride chose a gown. of
Italian peau de soie, adorned
with re - embroidered Alencon
lace which was appliqued over
the b o d i c e, the latter being
topped with a modified V neck,
formed by the outlines of the
lace. The tiny-•sleeves also were
formed by the lace appliques.
Her bo-uffant skirt fell over
panniers and a hoop and swept
back into a traditional train
which tied into a bustle. Her veil
of shirred illusion fell to her
fingertips. in two tiers from a
cap of matching lace.. She carried
a Bible adorned with cascading
lily - of - the - valley and small
white orchids.
Shelby Keywell, the bride's
sister, was her maid of honor.
Her bridesmaids were another
sister, Barbara Keywell,, Mrs.
Richard Saffir, of Ann Arbor,
Mrs. Gerald Gurvis and Diane
Clark.
Harold Goldberg, of Pontiac
was the bridegroom's best man,
and 'u s h e r s included William
Levitt, Norton Weiss, Milford
L e w i s, Jerome Rogers, Daniel
Honigman, George Brody, David
Caplan and Phillip Schwartz.
Following a dinner- and recep-
tion, the couple enplaned for a
Mexican honeymoon. On their
return, they will reside in Hunt-
ington Woods.

Rabbi Isadore Breslau; of Wash-
ington, has been appointed . chair-
man of a luncheon honoring El=
mer Davis; author and news
analyst, to be held Dec. 16, at the
National Press Club in Washing-
ton, it has been announced by
Dr. Israel Goldstein, president of
the American Jewish Congress.
Rabbi Breslau reported that a
distinguished list of newsmen and
civic officials had agreed to serve
on a reception committee for Mr.
Davis.
Mr. Davis will receive AJ Con-
gress' 1954 Stephen Wise Award
at the forthcoming luncheon "for
the courage, consistency and clar-
ity with which he has defended
our traditional civil liberties at a
time when they have been seri-
ously challenged and frequently
violated."
The Award, in the form of a
bronze plaque and a check in the
amount of $1,000, will be pre-
sented to Mr. Davis by Senator
Herbert H. Lehman, winner of
the 1953 Stephen Wise Award in
the area of civil rights.

will gather for a Hanukah cele-
bration on Sun.day night, at Zion-
ist House, Linwood at Lawrence.

The program will feature har-
monica and chilil interpretations
by Yitzhak Zamir, of Israel, and
humorous Yiddish readings by
David Sislin. Leah Koven will
lead in community singing, and
a candlelighting ceremony will
be offered by -members of the
various branches.
