Golden Weddings
Run in Family

At the golden wedding cele-
bration of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob
Shevitz, two weeks ago, these

interesting facts were recalled:
Four other immediate mem-
bers of Mr. Shevitz's family al-

ready have observed their fif-
tieth wedding anniversaries: Mr.
and Mrs. Morris (Zelda) Boren-
stein of Ocean Park, Calif.—
Mrs. Borenstein being Mr. She-
vitz's sister; Mr. and Mrs. Abra-:
ham Shewitz and Mr. and Mrs.
Mitchell Shaw of Detroit—both
Mr. Shewitz and Mr. Shaw being
Mr. Shevitz's brothers.
It also was recalled that when
the late Rabbi Kook of Palestine
was in Detroit • he was the guest
of the Shevitzes, who have been
active in communal and religious

affairs here for more than four
decades.
