Hanukah Party Heads_
Three Events This Week

The Adas Shalo-m Young Mar-
ried Couples Club has scheduled
its third annual Hanukah party
for paid-up members and their
children at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, at
the synagogue. • •
• Following the lighting of the
candles and appropriate musical
selections by Cantor Niamlas
Fenakel, there will be a puppet
show presented by the group's
own Puppet Club.
Two short plays, "Mr. Snow-
Man" and "The Menorah Maker,"
Will be featured. Puppeteers afe
Mr. and Mrs. Hal Lease; Mr. and
Mrs. Ed Hope and Mr. and Mrs.
AL Goldstein. Mrs. Joyte Markle
made the puppets by hand. •
On Wednesday evening. Rep.
Martha Griffiths, Congresswoman
from Michigan's 17th District,
will speak on "The Forthcoming
Election." Also planned is the
gr6up's own election program.
The dramatic group, a subsidi-
ary organization, will meet Sat- -
Urday evening, at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Blaze,

Final casting for a musical
comedy and presentation of a
Hanukah play, \"Says Adolph to
Auntie Antiochus," will be fea-
tured.

The marriage of Janet Barbara
Newman, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Harry H. Newman, of Penn-
ington Dr., and Robert S. Victor,
son of Mr. Barnet Victor and the
late Mrs. Victor, was solemnized
Oct. 23 at Cong. Shaarey Zedek.
Rabbi MorriS Adler and Cantor
Jacob Sonenklar officiated.
The bride wore a white satin
gown with a sweetheart neckline,
outlined in lace applique, and -seed
pearls. The full skirt fell froth a
fitted bodice and ended in a
cathedral sweep. A cap of sequins
and seed pearls held the illusion
veil. She carried a shower bou-
quet of white orchids and steph-
anotis. .
Mrs. Philip Robbins and Miss
Phyllis :Newman, - sist.ers of the
bride, attended her as matron of
honor and maid of honor, respec-
tively. The bridesmaids were
Mrs. Irvel Newrnan,_ Ruth. Cho-
cloroff and.Sandra Ellis.
Irvel Newman, brother of the
bride, was best man, and ushers
were Philip Robbins, Arthur
Shapiro and Milton Green. Mar-
great Robbins, niece of the bride,
served as flower -girl. -
Guests came from Ohio, Massa-
chusetts, • Illinois, Missouri and

Two religious school assemblies
are .planned this year for Hanu-
kah i?s, Adas Shalom Synagogue,
both to `be held Sunday, in the
congregational building.
The eighth, ninth and . tenth
•gradeS will hold a round-table
discussion on "What ShOuld a
Jew's Attitude Be Toward Christ-
mas?"- Rabbi Jacob E. Segal and
instructor Richard Leland Will
lead the panel.
In the. social hall, junior and

intermediate groups will com-
bine_ for a Hanukah program,
which will include a play and

a candlelighting ceremony.
