Women at Auschwitz

BONN (JTA)—Dr. Carl Clau-
berg, former S. S. doctor who
sterlized h u n d r e ds of Jewish
women at the Auschwitz concen-

it was announced by the Schless-

The 57-year-old "scientist" was
also chief medical officer of the
Ravensbruck concentration camp,
and was recently released by the
Russians among a number of
prisoners of war.„
Dr. Clauberg is now in a mental

the Justice Ministry announced
that a • psychiatric check shortly
after his arrest had revealed the
possibility, according to the ex-

Central Council of Jews in Ger-

be tried for acts of "persistent
and grave bodily injury" in his
sterilization experiments on hun-
dreds of Jewish women camp in-
mates.
