Lipkin to Conduct Cynthia Malerman's
CBC Orchestra
Betrothal Announced

Seymour Lipkin, Detroit-born
concert pianist, whose perform-
ance here last week at Masonic
Temple with the Detroit Sym-
phony. Orchestra, received much
praise from local music reviewers,
will this week conduct the Cana-
dian Broadcasting Company. Or-
chestra.
On Thursday evening., over
theCanadian Broadcasting Com-
pany Concert Hour, Lipkin will
conduct Leonard Bernstein's
popular m o d ern composition,
"Trouble in Tahati." The pro-
gram will originate in Montreal.
The Bernstein work is the same
in which Lipkin made his con-
ducting debut a few years ago at-
Tanglewood.
Also on Lipkin's itinerary in
the the coming weeks is 'an ap-
pearance at Town Hall, in New-
York, on, Jan. 3.

Neugarten Medical Aid will
hold its annual membership lun-
cheon and meeting at 12:30 p.m.,
Monday, at Rainbow Terrace.
Mrs. Harry Stoll, membership
chairman, and Mrs. Joseph Bean,
co-chairman, will honor new
members.
Mrs. David Saks, president,
will present honor certificates to
all 20-year members for "loyalty
and continuous service" to the
organization. They are:

"Tuesday's Child," w ill be
shown.

Marion Marlowe to Sing
At Alpha Omega Event

Marion Marlowe, talented song-
stress of radio and television
fame, will headline the enter-
ment at the annual dinner-dance
of the Detroit Alumni Chapter
-of Alpha Omega Dental frater-
nity.
The program, scheduled for
Tuesday, in the Elmwood - Casino,
will inaugurate
the fraternity's
Foundation
Fund, which
Will combine the

Omega supports.

`Lach Nacht' Slated
By Sholem Aleichem

A"Lach Nacht" production will
be held by -.Chapter 11 of the
Sholem Aleichem Institute at 8:30
p.m., Saturday. The entire pro-
duction has, been prepared and
directed by Dr. Manuel Shaw,
Aaron Gornbein, Mike Zeltzer,
Frank Silverman, Lillian Gold
and Mrs. Sylvia Chover.
The cast includes: Frank ‘Sil-
verntan, Dr. Ilaanny Shaw, Mrs.
Lillian Silverman, Mrs. Gertrude
Forman, Paul Chover, Mrs. Paul-
ine Forman, 'Mrs. Gladys Herz-
lich, Sam Zafron, Mendel Korn,
MrS. Charlotte Shapiro, Maurice
Beckerman, Paul Gold, Mrs. Syl-
via Heideman, Mike Zeltzer, Mrs.
Sylvia Ricklin, Mrs. Miriam Co-
hen, Mrs.- Miriam Gornbein and
Aaron Gornbein.
Musical arrangements are- by
Malke Shaw and the choreogra-
phy was suggested by Mrs. Es-
ther Letvin. Decorations were
prepared by Mrs. Sylvia Chover
and Morgan Young. Ray Raphael
is "Lach Nacht" chairman and
Mrs. Tillie Beckerman is chair-
man, food committee with. Maur-
ice Beckerman, tickets and door
prizes chairman. There will be
dancing and refreshments.

Service Group Auxiliary
Sets Family Skating Party

The Ruth Ann Shapiro Auxil-
iary of the Infant Service Group,
composed of girls from 13 to 17
years, is planning a roller skat-
ing party for the whole family
to be held Dec. 6 at the Roller
Skating Arena Club on W. Eight
Mile Rd. All proceeds will go
to charity.
At a recent Hallowe'en party,
held at the HawthOrne Recrea-
tion Center for mentally retarded
children, - the girls dressed in
Mother Goose costumes and gave
skits, told stories, played games
and gave trick-or-treat bags of
candy, balloons and prizes to all
the children.
The members of the Auxiliary
also recently donated $400 to the
City of Hope Fund from their
Naomi Freeman Memorial fund.

MISS CYNTHIA MALERMAN

Mr. and Mrs. Herman Maler-
man, of Glendale Ave., announce
the engagement of their daugh-
ter, Cynthia Lois, to Robert Ar-
nold Steinberg, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Samuel Steinberg, of Stoe-
pel Ave.
Mr. Steinberg is a graduate of
the University of Michigan where
he was affiliated with Sigma Al-
pha Mu fraternity. No wedding
date has been set.

Re-Elects M. D. Stein

Myron D. Stein will again
serve as chairman of the board
of directors of the Detroit Serv-
ice Group's services division. He
-was re-elected at the division's
recent biennial meeting. -
