The Detroit family of Mr. Yidel Wilner, of Toronto, Ont., will
attend a Siyum Hasefer ceremony in honor of Mr. Wilner's 90th
birthday, to be -held at 2 p.m., Sunday, at the Yeshivah Synagogue,

festivities include Mr. and Mrs. Sam Spring, Mr. and Mrs. Leo

Members of the City of Hope Cancer Fighters last week hosted
members of other City of Hope-affiliated local groups at an informal
gathering at Sammy's Avalon Room. Guest of honor was former
Detroiter, Dr. Eugene Roberts, a member of the biochemistry depart-
ment of the City of Hope, at Duarte, Calif. Dr. Roberts was in
Detroit to attend the International Enzyme Symposium, Nov. 1
to 3, at Henry Ford Hospital, and to address the annual Champagne
Dinner of the Business Men's group, City of Hope, last Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. Sol Kanat are now residing in their new home
at 12767 Lincoln Rd., Huntington Woods, Mich.

Chicago Couple Feted

A Chicago couple was recently
honored by the Shinderman-
managed Oakton Manor Resort,
on Lake Pewaukee, Wis., for be-
ing the 1,000th honeymooners to
register at the noted year-round
vacation spot.
Mr. and Mrs. Martin Shapiro
won a giant loving cup, a free
gift certificate good for a dis-
count on a return trip, a honey-
moon book with photographs and
records for future reminiscing.
The Shinderman policy of of-
fering special services to honey-
mooners is four years old this
fall. One of the features is a
honeymoon orchard of 75 fruit
trees, dedicated to the newlyweds
to symbolize their growing love.

Sisterhood, will open Sunday,
at the temple, and continue
through Wednesday. Hours will
be from 12 noon to 10 p.m.,
daily.
Nearly 30 dealers, some from
out-state, will exhibit choice
porcelains, English silver, an-
tique jewelry, fine wood pieces
and primitives,

Joseph Wayne.
A guide to the Mrs. Wolfe
fair is being prepared under the

Mrs. Irving S. Wolfe, presi-
dent of the Temple Israel Sis-
terhood, announced this week
that special features of the four-
day event will be a rare book
and map collection and a stamp
and coin collection. Luncheon
and dinner will be served daily,
under the chairmanship of Mrs.
Harry Fisher.
Another highlight, Mrs. Wolfe
added, will be pastel sketches
drawn by local artists. Sam
Fields is in charge of a special
"artist's colony" which will ex-
hibit water colors, etchings and
lithographs.
Among the painters will be a
group of instructors at the Uni-
versity of Michigan, artists from
New York, painters from Cran-1
brook and elsewhere. There also I
will be a collection of antique
frames.
Funds from the fair will go
toward furnishing the kitchen
of Temple Israel's proposed ac-
