Lew Ayres to Present
Films on Religions

NEW YORK, (JTA) — L e w
Ayres, one-time Hollywood star,
has turned to a new facet of
motion picture making—a series
of films on the great religions of
the world, including Judaism. Mr.
Ayres, long a studeht of philoso-
phy and comparative religion,
travelled some 40,000 miles in
making the film series, which is
now to be presented on a nation-
wide tour.
The entire series will consti-
tute three iull evenings of show-
ings, and each film will be pre-
sented by Mr. Ayres. Aside from
pointing out certain ethical
similarities between the religions
presented, there is no attempt on
the part of the films themselves,
or Mr. Ayres' commentary, to
propagandize on behalf of any
of the religions.
The film on Judaism, "Children
of Abraham.," shows various ob-
servances in Israel, and covers
such topics as yeshivoth, rab-
bincal courts, the Israel Army
chaplaincy, synagogue worship,
the Koshering process, and the
holidays. Showings of the film
opened in San Francisco.
