Detroit. Ilistadriittoeailleirs Get urgent israel - Call for Action
Mordecai Namir and Itzhak
•iaskin, secretary general and
treasurer, respectively, of •Israel
Histradrut, have cabled an ur-
gent call for action to the Detroit
Histadrut campaign. Their cable
*states that Kupat Holim, Hista-
drut's medical service organiza-
tion which reaches, into the bor-
der settlements, has been placed
on an emergency footing similar
to 1948, and as a result is in im-
mediate need of vast quantities
of medical supplies and equip-
ment.
As a result of the emergency
-
call from Israel, the Detroit exec-
utive board has held several meet-
ings to revamp the already
formed "business as usual" plans.
A bruncheon meeting scheduled
for this Sunday morning in the
auditorium of the former Labor
Zionist Institute, 13722 LinwOod,'
will bring together key campaign
workers to hear reports on recent
developments in Israel and to
devise ways of concluding the
1956 Histadrut drive in several
weeks. A special "emergency-
comthittee" will be created to con-
duct the intensified campaign
among constituent groups of the
Labor Zionist Organization, the
DETROIT JEWISH NEWS-13 Landsmanschaften Division and
Friday, November- 4, 1955 , trade groups.

up permanent residence in Israel.
The key-note speaker that eve-
ning will be Rabbi Jacob J. Wein-

distinguished scholar and orator.
'Rabbi Weinstein was director
