British freighter, the "Tudor
Prince," carrying chemicals, ex-
plosives and fertilizer, was un-
loaded of her dangerous cargo in
the port here and then towed
back to sea.

Dr. Faitlowitch, Explorer,
Dies; Found Falasha Jews

TEL AVIV (JTA) — Professor
Jacques Faitlowitch, famous ex-
plorer who was the first to es-
tablish contact between - world
Jewry and the "Falashas," the
Jews of Ethiopia, died here Oct.
15, at the age of 74.
Dr. Faitlowitch conducted four
exploratory expeditions among
the -Falashas between 1904 and
1913, gaining the confidence of
the dark-skinned Jews who had
been cut off from Jewry for
thousands of years and thought
themselves the only remaining
Jews in the world.
