LIBERMAN'S
IT WAS LIKE old times again,
last week, when former De-
troiter Sam Dictor was in town
from California with wife Lil
and were the house guests of
Lou and Ann Chudler . . . Sam
and Lou played football together
at Northern High back in 1927-
28, plus also being roommates
back there in "the good old
days.". . . Sam is still active in
athletics. His Kiowa Lodge for
women in Elsinore, Calif.-, has
gals coming from all over the
country . . . and is often referred
to by writers as "The Ladies
Hippy Haven.". . . There'll be a
story coming out in Time Maga .-
zine about Ktbwa Lodge . .
plus articles in some of the
movie magazines, since a lot of
the female stars are regular visi-
tors there when it comes to los-
ing a few pounds or staying in
condition . .. Kiowa has become
so popular that a waiting list
of at least two weeks is giving
Sam thdughts of 'expanding even
more than he has . . . The en-
tire Dictor family would have
been here, but their two sons
are away at school. . . Larry,
19, is a sophomore at USC, and
Paul, 13, is at Santa Barbara . .
The occasion was 50th wedding
anniversary of Lil's- parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Ruben Karttman, Oct.
10, at Holiday Manor .. Among
other former Detroiters -who
came in for the affair were Sid
- Stoller, right hand man. at Kio-
wa, and wife .Payline.„.c.of Los
Angeles, Anne Karp- from. Palm
Springs with daughters - Fern Fox
and Sandra kreitiman,. Betty ,
and Lou Shulak and Harry and
Becky Shulak from Toledo, and
Arthur and Gloria Schwartz and
Nat and Ann Schwartz of New
Jersey . . . Mrs. Kartzman's two
sisters, Celia Goldwarg and Leah
Routbard came in from Mon-
treal . for her anniversary, along
with her niece Rosalind Hub-
scher . . . Mr. and Mrs. Kartz-
man have 11 grandchildren and
four great grandchildren.

COMIC JACKIE KAHANE,

mornings will get up so early
to attend services . . . Jackie is
one of those very few.
