MILWAUKEE (JTA) - The
Wisconsin Jewish Tercentenary
Corrimittee has voted to continue
as a permanent organization un-
der the name, Wisconsin Society
for Jewish Learning. The Society
will continue to foster the chair
at the university, its work with
the Wisconsin Jewish Archives
and the research and history
project about the Jews in the
state of Wisconsin.
The group, along with the
Milwaukee chapter of the Amer-
ican Jewish Committee, last year,
founded the chair of Hebrew
studies at the University of Wis-
consin at Madison. The first ac-
credited course in Hebrew will be, Alir.
offered this fall by the new de-
partment under the leadership of
Professor •Monsoor whose ap-
pointment has just been announc-
ed by the U. of W. Board of Re-
gents.
