Ruth Leah .Rosender was
joined` in matrimony to Charles
J. Weingarten in a double-ring
ceremony performed Sept. 3 by
Rabbi Morris Adler, Rabbi Jacob
E. Segal and Cantor - NicholaS_
Fenakel at Adas Shalom Syna-
gogue.
The bride is the daughter- of
Mr., and 'Mrs. Maurice H. Ros-
ender, of 18919 Cherrylawn. The
bridegroom's parents are the Ir-
w i:n Weingartens, of 18106
Cherrylawn.
The new Mrs. Weingarten
chose a gown of white rose-
pointe chantilly lace over white
silk taffeta, which was high-
lighted by a fitted bodice,
square neckline and s h o r t,
shirred sleeves, with applique
of tiny pearls.
T h e bouffant floor - length
skirt was composed of side pan-
els ,Of silk and nylon tulle, and
ended in a cathedral train. Her
two-tiered veil of white, silk
from a crown of seed . pearls,
illuSion fell to fingertip-length
and she carried a Bible cov-
ered with a cascade of ordhicts.
ROsalind Epstein, the bride's
cousin, was her maid of honor,
and bridesmaids were. Lois . Ash
and Mrs. David Mendelson.
Jciel .. Weingarten was his
brother's best man, -- while ush-
ers ',included William Rosender,
brother of the bride, Ronald
Schwartz, Alvin- Fishman, Shel-
don Eichler and Herbert Rossiri:
Following dinner at the Sher-
aton-Cadillac Hotel, the couple
left;: for a wedding trip to New
Yorlc. On their return, they will
reside in Ann Arbor.

Feature: "The Poor Commu-
nity" is a .story about a com-
munity that not only can't afford
to hire a rabbi for the high holi-
days, but also loses its Shofar
blower and Torah reader to a
wcilthy town. For the first time
in nine years, they must leave
their own synogogue and go else-
where for services.

Begins Fund-Raising

Children Unlimited, a group of
several hundred' northweSt area
women will open a series of fall

fund-raising efforts with a mem-
bership meeting at 1 p.M. Wed::
nesday, at Holiday Manor:
The organization,. formed a
year ago, enlists financial sup-
po4 for the Penrickton Nursery,
a pre-school program for sight-
less Children in, Wayne CoUnty.
The nursery is :the, only organ-
ized training effort for sightless
children below school-age, and
was started in 1953 by Mrs. Lil-
lian Bicker. Funds raised by.
Children Unlimited go toward
construction of a nursery build-
ing, a $35,000 project, on Eureka
Rd., in Wyandotte.
Plans of Children Unliniited in-
clude_ a membership tea on Oct.
12, and a donor luncheon and
fashion show, Nov, 29, both at
