In Tribute to Mr. Chinitz

David H. J. Feinberg, 58, of
2474 W. Boston, who had been
active in Shaarey Zedek, Zionist
Organization, United Hebrew
Schools and the Home for the
Aged, died Aug. 24. Services
were held at Ira Kaufman Chapel
Aug. 26.
Surviving him are his wife,
Pearl; two sons, Sidney M. and
Alan M., who has been associated
with the archeological depart-
ment of the Hebrew University
in Jerusalem; five brothers,
Charles E., Robert M. of Omaha,
Dr. Joseph, Frank and Robert J.;
two sisters, Mrs. Richard D'wor
and Mrs. Arthur Phillips of Col-
burne, Ont.

Rev. Chinitz Dies
On Return from Israel;
Was Orthdox Leader

Members of a Detroit delega-
tion of Orthodox leaders were
saddened this week on their re-
turn from Israel at the news that
one of their party, Rev. Solomon
Chinitz, had died en route home.
Rev. Chinitz was stricken with
a heart attack while the group

Chinitz passed
away on Aug. 29.

munity. He had been a charter
member of the Yeshivath Beth
Yehudah.
He also belonged to Cong. Mo-
gen Abraham, Northwest Israel
Synagogue, Mizrachi Organiza-
tion of Detroit and the Jewish
National Fund. His wife, the late
Anna R. Chinitz, who passed away
17 months ago, shared his inter-
ests in organizational work.
He had taken his trip to Israel
as a delegate to the Mizrachi
World Conference.
Mrs. David Goldsmith, a daugh-
ter with whom Rev. Chinitz lived
at 17505 Cherrylawn, told of re-
ceiving letters from him every
day while he was in Israel. The
last of them read, in part, "For
the rest of my days, I'll have
things to tell you."
Funeral arrangements are.being
made by the Hebrew Memorial
Chapel, but services await the
arrival of the body which is being
flown here from England.
Rev. Chinitz is survived - by
two other daughters, Mrs. Harry
Eisenberg and Mrs. Meyer Wax,
