Ordaining Women as Rabbis Opposed
At Convention of Bnai Brith Girls

STARLIGHT, Pa. (JTA) —
Teen-age delegates to the 11th
annual convention of Bnai Brith
Girls here have rejected by a 2
to 1 margin, the role of women
serving as ordained rabbis. The
tally was a result of an informal
survey among some 160 delegates
from all parts of the United
States, and Canada, representing
a cross-section of congregational
affiliation.
The convention, in its annual
discussion program, also took the
position that the establishment no
the State of Israel presented no
problems of "dual loyalty" and
that American Jews owed their

Nazi Becomes Advisor
TO Saudi-Arabian King

LONDON (JTA) — A former
Nazi diplomat has been appointed
chief European advisor to King
Saud of Saudi Arabia, the Daily
Mail reported from Beirut. He is
Otto von Henting, head of the
Arab Section of Von Ribbentrop's
Foreign Office.

The Daily Mail correspondent
says that this is a notable triumph
for German Middle East policy.
The Bonn Government has been
trying desperately to regain in-
fluence in the region by placing
political and military advisors
throughout the a r e a. It has
achieved considerable success in
Egypt, Syria, Y e m e n, Saudi
Arabia and Ethiopia, the corre-
spondent added. He said the ap-
pointment of von Hentig appears
to be made because King Saud
wanted an advisor "who can be
relied upon to support him" in
his efforts to disrupt the Turkish-
Iraqi-British pact.
