LOS ANGELES (JTA) — The practice of Jewish-sponsored hos- pitals of publicly stressing their non-sectarian character and ac- ceptance of patients regardless of race and creed while, at the same time, failing to draw public at- tention to the fact that they are under Jewish auspices, has come in for criticism here. The issue was raised editorially by the Bnai Brith Messenger which criticized sponsors of the new Mt. Sinai Hospital for al- legedly attempting to "hide their Jewish face in public" at the hospital's dedication. Julius Bisno, executive secre- tary of the Los Angeles Jewish Community Council, in a letter to the paper, noted that "these very important health institutions would do much to advance their own cause and certainly make a contribution to the strengthening of the public relations of the Jewish community if they would make known on all occasions that these fine institutions are "under Jewish auspices." The communal official stated that this would not "detract one g3irths July 18—To Mr. and Mrs. Sey- mour Burg (Irene Bluestein), of Scotia Ave., Oak Park, Mich., a son, Steven Eric. * * * Aug. 12—To Mr. and Mrs. Jack E `-- Glickoff (Rose Crane) of 18314 Stansbury, a daughter, Debra Gail. * * * To Mr. and Mrs. Edward Martin Stone (Renee Marilyn Salon), of Huntington Woods, Mich., a -daughter, Leanne Marilyn. * * * Aug. 10 — To Mr. and Mrs. Frank Friedman (Ruth Cohen; of Pittsburgh), of 22169 Avon, Oak Pai*, Mich., a daughter, Arlene Jo. * * Aug. 11 — Aug. 9—To Mr. - and Mrs. Eli Richter (Edith May Dickler), of 21331 Westhampton, Oak Park, Mich., a son, Mark Robert. * * * Aug. 9—To Mr. and Mrs. Jonas Laurens (Harriet Lunenfeld), of 20111 Braile, son, Howard Scot t. _* * * Aug. 8—To Mr. and Mrs. Allen Zeitlin (Barbara Weiner), of 13631 PearScnr, Oak Park, Mich., a daughter, Randee Gayle. * * * Aug. 4—To Dr. and Mrs. Mor- ris Starkman (Betty Provizer), of 22150 Marlow, Oak Park, Mich., a daughter, Susan Lynn. * * Aug. 4—To Mr. and Mrs. Ar- thur Lyons (Marlene Broadman, of Providence, R.I.), of 20050 Marlowe, a daughter, Robin Sue. * * * ;Aug. 3—To Mr. and Mrs. Morris J.
