Asher L. Weisman, of 26355 Humber, Huntington Woods, re-
ceived the Doctor of Optometry degree recently at the 111th
commencement of Northern Illinois College of Optometry, Chicago.
The son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Weisman, Dr. Weisman attended
Highland Park Junior College and Wayne University before be-
ginning his professional studies. He was a member of. Gamma
Omega Phi fraternity and of the Wolverine Club. After completing
two years in military service, he plans to enter private practice
in Detroit.

Mr. and Mrs. Rubin Goodman, of Oakman Blvd., recently
tendered a farewell party for Rabbi and Mrs. Hayim Dbnin (he is
spiritual leader of Cong. Bnai David), prior to their departure on
July 24 for a month's visit in Israel.

Rabbi and Mrs. Max J. Wohlgelernter and son, Joshua, will
leave from New York on Sunday aboard an El Al Constellation for
Israel. They will visit with their daughter, Tamar, who will return
to Detroit with them after a year of study, and also witness the
formal dedication ceremonies of Bar-Ilan University in Tel Aviv.

Mr. and Mrs. S. Bernard Kauffman, of the Detroit Towers, and
Mr. and Mrs. Roy C. Cramer, of Lincolnshire Dr., left recently
aboard the Kauffman's yacht for a two and a half month tour of
South American ports. After they return, they will leave Sept. 6
aboard the SS Lurline to spend the winter in the Hawaiian Islands.

Lt. and Mrs. Harold S. Gaynor (Fayanne Sike) have returned
from Fort Richardson, Alaska, where Lt. Gaynor has just completed
a tour of duty. After a brief leave here, Lt. Gaynor will assume
new duties at Fort Sheridan, Ill. Mrs. Gaynor will remain here
with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Sike, of Dexter Blvd.

Asher have left for Jerusalem, Israel, to visit their mother and

William Hordes, delivered the sermon during the synagogue serv-
ices in the Bar Mitzvah's honor.
