On the occasion of the 40th an-
niversary of the Workmen's
Circle theatrical group—Arbeiter
Ring .Folksbine— whose attain-
ments have won wide acclaim,
and whose actors have shown
outstanding ability, a very in-
teresting Yiddish volume has just
been issued by Workmen's Circle
(175 E. Broadway, N.Y. 2) under
the title "Vierzig Yalr Folksbine."
Leaders who were close to the
Workmen's Circle cultural activi-
ties, officers and directors of the
movement, have contributed ar-
ticle's to this volume, It is richly
illustrated with scenes from plays
and with photographs of the per-
formers.
During the 40 years of the
Folksbine's activities, many Yid-
dish classics were produced and
the works of Sholem Aleichem,
Peretz and others were featured.
There is one essay in English—
"From an Admirer," by William
Stern, director of the Workmen's
Circle English-speaking division.
