Slated f o r October _
A Detroit Caravan to Israel
for community leaders is being
planned by the Detroit Service
Group of the Jewish Welfare
Federation, Milton K. Mahler,
DSG president, announced.
A number of other cities have
organized similar trips. Last
summer some 50 men and wom-
en from Los Angeles took such
a trip and a Cleveland Caravan
of 25 community leaders has
just completed a visit to Israel.
Plans call for the Detroit Car-
avan to leave the United States
Oct. 2 or 3 and spend 12 days in
Israel. The time in Israel is to
be spent in first-class hotels
and there are to be guided tours
by bus under the auspices of the
Jewish Agency.
The trip is being arranged
so that the members of the
Caravan will be free to go
wherever they like in Europe or
Israel, after the 12-day tour is
completed. They will return to
New York individually. The trip
will include men and women.
