Circus Days Are Bargain Days
At Oak Park's Shopping Center

The circus has come to Oak
Park, or more properly its Cir-
rus Days which have bargain-
• onscious Oak-Wwders in a
shopping whirl.
All the excitement of a three-
ring circus is being centered this
Weekend — Thursday, Friday
• nd Saturday — at the Nine
Mile - Coolidge Shopping Cen-
ter, as stores in the center offer
gifts, . bargains and fun for all
the family.
Participating in Circus Days
are the Jacqueline Shops, wo-
ynen's ready - to - wear shop;
Email Fry Fashions, juvenile
Clothing store; Sammy's Deli-
catessen and Hy's Juvenile
Furniture.
Jacqueline Shops is taking
advantage of Circus Days by of-
fering its patrons savings on
everything from better dresses
and playwear to maternity
clothes, coats and jewelry.
The sale, which is also being
conducted at the Jacqueline
Shop, at Dexter and Tyler, is
featuring numerous categories
which offer reductions of as
much as 50 per cent.
Savings for the small fry at
Snail Fry is -the theme of the
sale now in progress at that
juvenile center. Just about all
items are being offered at sub-
stantial reductions in price dur-

ing Circus Days. Almost all sizes
and colors are available in all
items. The sale is. also in prog-
ress at the Dexter store.
Making its debut during the
Circus Days weekend is Hy's
Juvenile Center, which is cele-
brating the occasion with a
number of get-acquainted spe-
cials on play pens, strollers and
other juvenile furniture and
toys, all made by nationally-
known manufacturers.
Sammy.'s Delicatessen likewise
will feature several specials dur-
ing the three-day festivities,
which are guaranteed to whet
the palate.
All participating merchants
will _offer prizes to the young-
sters and entertainment is plan-
ned. All stores are, open each
evening during Circus Days.

Tunisian Jews to Keep
French Citizenship

TUNIS, EJTA)—Tunisian Jews
who have French nationality
status have refused a demand
from a Moslem nationalist com-
mittee that they give up their
French citizenship as part of a
nationalist campaign for "rein-
statement of our ancient na-
tionality."
There are some 30,000 Jews
who have French nationality
status and, it is understood, some
of them believe that retention
of French nationality represents
their only protection against
possible future excesses.
The Moslem committee which
seeks annulment of Frenchciti-
.ienship for Tunisians was set
up with the support of Habib
Bourguiba, Tunisian nationalist
leader, who upon his return to
this country from exile last
month said that Tunisian Jews
would be given full equality with
Moslems.

LONDON—(WJA) A mimeo-
graphed pamphlet, published in
Copenhagen to mark Hitler's
birthday on April 20, has been
received by the World Jewish
Congress Information Depart-
ment.
The pamphlet, with a swastika
on the cover, has been produced
as a special issue of Faedreland-
et, official monthly bulletin of
the National Socialist Labour
Party of Denmark. A leader in
commemoration of Hitler is sup-
plemented by a series of quota-
tions from "Mein Kampf,", in-
cluding references to his pro-
nouncements on Marxism and
on "International Jewry."
The May issue Of .Faedreland-
et; received at the same time,
contains a number of vicious
anti-Semitic attacks. in the Nazi
style, including an article on the
"Protocols of the Elders of
Zion."

Young Israel Center of Oak-
Woods will hold sabbath services
at 7:45 p. m., today, and at 9
a. m., Saturday, in the congrega-
tion, ' 24061 Coolidge. Rabbi
Yaakov I. Homnick will officiate.

NEW YORK—A steady trend
toward increased coordination
of Jewish General hospitals and
other institutions caring for the
chronically ill is stepping up in-
tegration of health and other
services for the chronically ill,
it was reported at a nationwide
conference on Jewish commu-
nity and hospital planning for
the long-term patient.
More than 150 professional
Etnd volunteer leaders of hospi-
tals and federations, homes for
the aged, U.S. Public Health
Service and other groups at-
tending the two-day conference,
sponsored by the Council of
Jewish Federations and. Welfare
Funds, concluded:
1. Most of the 5,000,0010 long-
term patients can best be cared
for at home, with a medical-
social team supplementing care
by the family physician.
2. Confidence is needed by the
long-term patient to overcome
his disability. This can be bol-
stered by occupational therapy
and recreation.
3. Each community should
formulate its own program to
meet local needs, through hos-
pitals and institutions capable
of providing continuous nursing
care.
