"Israel's seven lean years spent
in successfully establishing an
economic basis are certain to be
followed by seven years of dy-
namic development towards
economic independence," Mrs.
Joseph Katchke said upon her,
return from Israel.
Mrs. Katchke, chairman of the
Detroit Women's Division for
State of Israel Bonds reached
this conclusion after a three-
week study of the economic
problems of the State of Israel.
During her stay, she inspected
development projects, visited
factories and farms, and met
with government officials.
It was evident, Mrs. Katchke
said, that Israel Bond dollars
played a basic role in making
progress possible. Government
officials told her that in every
field of Israel's economy the Is-
rael government has. invested
Bond proceeds.
The Women's Division has
planned a Welcome Home Party
for Mrs. Katchke at 1 p.m.,
June 13, at Rainbow Terrace.
At this time she will give a full
and complete report on her
tour,
One of the features of the
dessert luncheon will be the
presentation of CHEN charms by
Mrs. Joseph Newman, chairman
of the CHEN group, and a report
on sponsor activity by the Na-
tional Sponsors Chairman of
Detroit, Mrs. Philip Hellman.
Among the women heading
the plans for the Welcome Party
are Mesdames Philip Cutler,
Philip Helfman, Rachel Kurtz-
man, Joseph Newman, Albert
Potiker and Alex Schreier,
