Another Anecdote About Albert I instein
Harry Schneiderman, chair-
man of the editorial board of
"Who's Who in World Jewry,"
reminds of this additional an-
cedote about the late Dr. Albert
Einstein:
During the early days of the
Institute for Advance Studies
at Princeton Uniiersity, its di-
rector, Dr. Abraham Flexner,
called up Dr. Einstein one day
and asked him whether any-
one in his household was ill
or disabled. Dr. Einstein an-.
swered "Ne! Why do you ask?"
Dr. Flexner .stated that he was
asking the question because
he had before him an order
for the installation of an ele-
vator in Dr. Einstein's two
story dwelling, an order sign-
ed by Dr. Einstein. The scien-
tist answered, with some little
embarrassment : " Oh , t h -e

Jewish Folk Chorus
Offers Annual -Concert
The Jewish Folk Chorus will
present its 30th annual concert
June 12, at the Scottish Rite
Cathedral of Masonic Temple.
Honoring the chorus' 30th an-
niversary and in celebration of
the American Jewish Tercente-
nary, California Jewish-composer
Paul Held was commissioned to
write a new composition for the
event.
In 'conjunction with writer
Yuri Suhl, whose "Cowboy on a
Horse" recently won national ac-
claim, Held has composed a
work called "The Ballad of Asser
Levy,"• which will be given its
first performance.
Henri Goldberg will conduct
the work, which tells the story
of Asser Levy, one of the first 23
Jewish settlers who came -to New
Amsterdam, as New York was
then called. Yuri Suhl will be
guest narrator.
The program will also include
groups of Yiddish, Hebrew and
English folk songs, many • of
whiCh were favorites in the
choir's previous presentations.
Soloists are Ruth Goldman and
Pauline Sabaroff, sopranos; Rose
Schachter, alto; Ellis Freeden-
son, bass; and Arnold Sabaroff,
tenor.
