Set Early Date for Zionist Meeting
Rabbi Moses Lehrman, presi-
dent of the Zionist Organization
of Detroit, announces that the
annual meeting of the District
Will be held at 8:30 p.m., Tues-
day, in the Zionist House, 11345
Linwood.
The advanced date for the an-
imal meeting is necessitated by
the 58th annual national con-
vention of the Zionist Organiza-
tion of America, scheduled for
June 16 to 20, at Willard Hotel,
Washington, D.C.
The convention will be dedi-•
fated to the theme "Continued
Zionist Creativity."

New Congress Chapter
To Receive Charter
At ceremonies Wednesday, at
8 p.m., in the home of Emily
Schultz, 17224 Wildemere, the
University Women's Chapter of
f- American Jewish Congress will
officially receive its charter. The
L.= first officers also will be installed.
Led by president pro-tern
Betsy Brown, with assistance
from Irving Abramovitz, AJC
regional director, the new chap-
ter was organized last fall. Com-
prising its membership are young
women from local and nearby
colleges.
Dr. Leon Frain, president of
the Michigan Congress Council,
and Mrs. William Burk, Women's
Division president, will head the
contingent of Congress leaders
who attend the formal presen-
tation.
The program also will include
a candle-lighting ceremony and
selections by the chapter's chor-
al group, directed by Blossom
Lehrman. Carol Krohn is pro-
gram chairman.
The incoming president, Joan
Rothenberg, a Wayne University
sophomore, is the daughter of
Mrs. Edward Rothenberg, presi-
dent of Northwest Congress
