On May 8, according to a stat e -
ment released this week by the

Certificates for trees planted
in Israel at $1.50 each will be
mailed upon order from the JNF

per-petuate her memory in the
forests of Israel."
"Since `A Tree Is a Symbol of
Lite'," the statement continues,
"a growing tree would be a liv-
ing tribute to every m o t h e r.
Therefore, we suggest trees in
Israel to honor or memorialize
her."
In addition to serving as an
honoriam or memoriam, the
JNF states, the trees help drain
swamps, save soil from erosion,
raise the level of underground
water, provide shade, invigorate
soil and air, act as windbreak-
ers to shelter young crops, cre-

beautify the land and , provide
