"Try again in 1956,” they said . . . However, what a big sur- prise the school has gotten! .. That the very ambitious efforts of the fellows is now _expected to bring formal recognition by September of this year. IAEMBERS OF Phi Sigma Del- ta didn't just take the decision as it was handed down . . Rather than disbanding, the boys continued to stick together and have gotten stronger . . . to the extent of increasing their membership ! . . . The school is being made aware that here are a bunch of guys who definitely refuse to give up! TWO OF THE members will represent Phi Sigma Delta in the University of Detroit "Dar- by" at MRA Race Track, April 30 . . Pledge Mickey Gray is riding a horse in the race . . and he and active member Alvin Spector are entered in the pie jousting contest .. • They'll ride toward each other at high speed, and instead of using lances as in the olden days of King Ar- thur, when they get close, they'll throw a pie at each other! . . Phi Sigma Delta will have a booth at the annual U of D spring Carnival to help raise money for the Student Activities Building . . . and during the football season, will have a float in the homecoming parade . .•. No doubt about it ... the fellows are really in there pitching to show what they can do in prov- ing themselves worthy of cam- pus recognition! TOMORROW NIGHT is a big date for the Jewish fraternity at U of D .. . Phi Sigma Delta holds its first annual installa- tion dinner-dance formal at Sheraton-Cadillac ... Six pledges will be installed along with the officers . . . There are 32 mem- bers in the fraternity . . . Shel- don Mintz is president; Jerry Sage, vice president; Harvey Zalesin, treasurer; Larry Beck and Jerry Sherman, secretaries; Roy Woolf and• Norman Lippitt, sergeants at arms; Jerry Wein- garden, chaplain; Harold God- dis, pledge master. UNTIL THEY OBTAIN recog- nition, the fellows are calling themselves the PSD Club on the University of Detroit campus. 12162 Dexter TO. 6-9804 — TO. 8-9829 MAYFAIR CATERERS Announces That They Will Be OPEN TO THE PUBLIC ' for Day Mother's SUNDAY, MAY 8, 2 TO 9 P.M.
