Ford Treasury of
Favorite Recipes

On the back of the jacket of
the charming new book, "The
Second Ford Treasury of Favor-
ite Recipes from Famous Eating
Places, published by Simon &
Schuster (630 5th, NY 20). there
is this tale:
"Whether it is kept on the
cookbook shelf or in the glove
compartment of the car, this
handy-sized guide will be con-
sulted often. At home it is an
inspiration for good cooking:
away from home it is a guide to
good dining."
That describes this fine book,
dedicated to the Ford and Lin-
coln-Mercury dealers. in proper
fashion. Compiled by Nancy
Kennedy. Arthur Lougee being
the art director, this book con-
tains recipes that were tested in
the kitchens of the Women's
City Club of Detroit. As indicat-
ed, it lists eating places as well
as favorite recipes.
In the area covering North
Central America. four famous
restaurants, in four Michigan
cities, are represented by four
noteworthy recipes. •
Al Green's, one of the best
known eating places in this en-
tire area, located on East Jef-
ferson Avenue in Grosse Pointe
Park, is portrayed with a
painting by Don Silverstein
and is represented by the fol-
lowing Chicken Cacciatore
favorite dish:

through the Ford book, for this

life-size reproduction of famous
historical Pilgrim masterpieces
have brought it fame. is included
with its fine Spiced Carrots
recipe.
Hotel Dilworth, noted for its
summer and winter vacation of-
ferings, located on state High-
way 75, Boyne City, is represent-
ed by a Tomato Pudding recipe

gourmets.
The scores of recipes in this
book truly make it a treasury.
The title of the book is not a
misnomer.
