and Mrs. H. Weinstein. They
spoke their marital vows before
Rabbi Jacob E. Segal and Cantor
Hyman Adler on March .13, at
Rainbow Terrace.
The bride chose a gown of
white Italian silk and 'chantilly
lace, with pearls and sequins
scattered over the bodice. Ex-
tending from the empire waist-
line was a side panier with 'ap-
pliques of the lace, pearls,
which ended in a s weep train.
Her cap • of matching taffeta
with pearl leaves held in place
a fingertip veil of white illusion,
and her flowers were white or-
chids, stephanotis and white-
edged streamers.
Sheila Adler, the bride's sister,
was maid of honor, and Mrs.
Daniel Menken was matron of
honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs.
Lawrence Klein, M r s. Edythe
Kasmer, Ann Parsky and Trudy
Rouff. Al Weinstein was his
brother's best man, while serv-
ing as ushers .were Al Berlin,
Sidney Fishman, Jack Stein and
Ben Stein. The bride's cousin,
Leonard Per,s.in, was ring bearer.
Following dinner and a recep-
tion, the couple left for a honey-
modn in Florida. On their re-
turn, they will reside at 10649
W. 10 Mile, Oak Park, Mich.

members of Workmen's Circle
Branches 460 and 470 at a joint
meeting in Workmen's Circle
Centre tonight. Harold Berke,
Detroit director of Histadrut,
will comment on the film and
relate local Histadrut activities.
Dr. Israel Knox, prOfessor of
philosophy at New York Univer-
sity, will speak at the confer-
ence of the Council for Jewish
Education, tonight, on the sub-
ject "An Approach to Youth."
On Sunday afternoon, Dr. Knox
will speak • on "The Philosophy
of JeWish Edu6ation," at the
Esther -Berman .Branch Of the
Jewish C.e n t e r. The. meeting
Will be chaired by M. Emanuel
Mark, director - of the Sholem
Aleichem Institute. Friday
night's lecture will be in Yid-
dish; Sunday's in English.
Other conferenCe sessions are
being planned for Saturday and
Sunday evening. Slated to ap-
pear in group discussions are M.
Goldoftas, director of the Far-
band Schools; Saul Maltz, direc-
tor of the Workmen's Circle
Schools; Sam Sigal, former
director of WC Schools, and J.
Comay, teacher in Yiddish
schools.
The conference will close with
an address on "Jewish Educa-
tion in Israel and America" by
Dr. A, Shmueli, 8:30 p.m. Sun-
day.

ter Symphony. During his short
residence in this country, he

Carnegie Hall last April, . he
toured the country from coast
to coast.
Turel has chosen Chopin's
E Minor Piano Concerto for his
Detroit concert. The program
will also include Dvorak's New
World Symphony and Mozart's
Overture to the Magic Flute.

The Sunday Nighters of the
Jewish Community Center will
celebrate its first anniversary
with a dance at 8:30 p.m., Sun-
day, in the D. W. Simons Cen-
ter, 4000 Tuxedo.
According to Elsie Palmer,
president, a dance contest will
be featured. Prizes for the
couples demonstrating the best
style in the waltz and rhumba
will be rewarded.
The group is also planning its
traditional Passover dance for
8:30 p.m., April 10, in the Sim-
ons Center. Women members
of the organization will prepare
and serve traditional holiday
foods. A jury of the men will
determine t h e prize-winning
recipes, and awards will be
made.

Janet Waserman was chosen
president of the Ahavas Achim
Youth Group at the annual
election meeting last week.

Sheldon Spector, outgoing
president, announced the ap-
pointment of Judy Caplan as
chairman of the installation din-
ner, to be held May 15, at Holi-
day Manor. Tickets are available
from members or at the syna-
gogue office.
The group will hold its final
dance of the season Tuesday
evening, in the synagogue so-
cial hall. Martin Lipson is chair-
man and David Lazarov is in
charge of ticket sales. Contests,
prizes and refreshments will be
featured.
