Labor Zionists Break Ground Sunday
For Northwest Cultural Center

Ground breaking ceremonies
for the new Labor Zionist Cul-
tural Center will take place at
12 noon, Sunday at the building
site, Schaefer, just north of
Seven Mile Rd.

monies, there will be a recep-

gogue, just across the street.

The building, to be erected at
a cost of $300,000, will house the
Labor Zionist Folk School, a
large auditorium, meeting
rooms and offices for all sec-
tions of the Labor Zionist Move-
ment. Plan for the building were
drawn by Louis G. Redstone,
Detroit architect.
All members of Farband, La-
bor Zionist Organiiation, Poale
Zion, Pioneer Women and I-1a-
bonim are expected to attend
the ceremonies. The public is
invited.

Set Memorial
To Warsaw Ghetto

The 12th anniversary
the
Warsaw Ghetto uprising will be
commemorated on April 3, in
the Brown Memorial Chapel of
Temple Beth -El, announces
Samuel Sigal, chairman of the
Jewish Community Council
committee Which is organizing
the meeting.
=Mordecai Shtrigler, one of the
survivors of that historic occa,,,
sion, will be the principal Yid-4
dish speaker. Cantor Nicholas
Fenaikel will Chant appropriate
liturgical selections.
' Participating also in the com-
munity-wide event will be Vi-
vian Goldstein, who will present
appropriate selections from Yid-
dish authors.
; A special candle-lighting cere-
mony is being arranged in co-
operation with the Mittleshul, a
high school serving the grad-
uates of the combined Farband,
Sholem Aleichem a n d Work-
men's Circle schools.
Additional participants will be
announced shortly, Sigal de-
clared.

cial assignment for the Jewish
Agency for Palestine, after four
years' residence in Israel, will
make his first public appear-
ance in Detroit March 30, when -
he meets with young adult
workers of the Allied Jewish
Campaign at a rally at the Da-
vison Jewish Center.
Mr. Feinberg went to Israel
in 1951 after studying at Kenyon
College, the University of Cin-
cinnati and Hebrew Union Col-
lege. He received his master of
arts degree last year from He-
brew University in Jerusalem.
He has also been engaged dur-
ing the last two years by the
Jewish Agency on the staff of
the Summer and Winter Insti-
tute which serves 2,500 students
a year who come from various
parts of the world to learn He-
brew and to visit government,
officials, Kibbutzim and indus-
trial plants, with a view to gain-
ing a better knowledge of Is-
rael and its people.
During the last five years, 150
such students from Detroit have
enrolled in the project which is
part of the Agency's youth pro-
gram for settlement and edu-
cation.
Mr. Feinberg and his Israeli
wife, Reena, are the parents of
a three-month-old Sabra, -Mi-
cah. Mrs. Feinberg and Micah
accompanied him on the trip to
this country.

ing before a Senate subcommit-
tee called Tuesday for a corn-
mission to investigate the Gov-
ernment loyalty security pro-
gram in an effort to end abuses
and to bring the pro-
gram into balance as between
Government security needs and
civil rights of individuals. The
organizations which testified
were the American Jewish Com-
mittee, American Jewish Con-
gress and Jewish War Veterans.
