School in honor of the 43rd an-

e ta Phi Epsilon Tea Honors New Pledge Class

Holds Meeting Monday

Scores of members and friends
of the American Jewish Con-
gress are preparing to attend the
annual Stephen Wise Dinner-
Dance, to be held at 6:30 p.m.,
Sunday, in the Latin Quarter, it
was announced this week in a
joint statement by Dr. Leon
Fram, president, Michigan Con-
gress Council, and Mrs. William
Burk, president, Women's Divi-
sion.
The program, which annually
honors the birthday of the late
Rabbi Wise, founder of Con-
gress, is headed by Abner Ro-
senzweig, chairman, Mrs. Myron
Cole, • co-chairman; Marshall
Brenner, Mrs. Julius Ring, Mrs.
Ethel Benjamin and Mrs. Ar-
nold Frank.
Rosenzweig stated that the
all-professional show which will
accompany the dinner-dance
will include Gustov Berger,
screen and Yiddish Art Theater
actor, and Miss Syd Skolsky, te-
levision and radio star.
The entertainers will be fea-
tured in a presentation of folk
music, impersonaations and char-
acter portrayals, which are part
of an act that has been well re-
ceived throughout the country.
Dancing will be to the music of
the Fenby-Carr Orchestra.
The fund-raising social event
will help to support the Louise
Waterman Wise Youth Home in
Jerusalem,
a center which
houses and feeds children from
all over Israel who come there
to learn a creative way of life
in art and citizenship.

Maimonides Auxiliary
Plans Annual Luncheon
At Sheraton Cadillac

The Women's Auxiliary of the
Maimonides Medical Society is
planning its annual luncheon
and fund-raising event at 12:30
Tuesday, in the Sheraton
Cadillac Hotel.
The program, "Fashions In-
ternationale," will feature a
production written by Mrs. Bess
Greenwald, local dramatist,
which will highlight an original
fashion show by a local firm.
Mrs. Greenwald will appear in
the principal role.
Scholarships from the event,
says Mrs. Louis Shiovitz, Auxi-
liary president, are allocated lo-
cally for scholarships to medical
students and charitable con-
tributions, and in Israel for
scholarships to the Hebrew Uni-
versity Medical School, rehabili-
tation of Israelis and to provide
transportation of an Israeli phy-
sician for post-graduate study
in America.
Planning the program are

Walter Silver, fund-raising co-
ordinators; Joseph Dubin, gen-
eral chairman; Henry Small and
Leo Orecklin, coordinators; Ar-
thur Goldberg, tickets; Adolphe
Lowe, co-chairman; Israel Wei-
ner, reservations; Sol Grossman,
hostesses; Emory Stein, co-
chairman.
