Mi. and Mrs. Menahem Singer of Jerusalem, who were here to
attend the marriage of their son, Avraham Ran, to the former
Annette. Stollman, have returned to their home in Israel.
Mr. :and Mrs. Murray Altman will leave next week for an ex-
tensive tour of Israel.
Dr. and Mrs. Morris Starkman (Betty Provizer) are now re-
siding at 22150 Marlow, Oak Park, Mich., following Dr. Starkman 's
discharge from the U.S. Army. The Starkmans returned •here from
Fort Sill, Okla., Where he served the final seven months of his two-
year tour of duty, much of which was spent in Korea. Dr. Stark-
man is now serving his residency in pediatrics at Children's Hos-
pital, Detroit. •
Among the students elected to the Student Council of t he
Detroit Institute of Technology are Roy R. Brown, of 3037 Richton,
a business administration freshman who was chosen Council sec-
retary; and Irving Berkowitz, 3252 Richton, an arts and science
freshman.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Green, of 825 Whitmore, will leave for a
three-week vacation in Miami Beach, Fla.
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Cohen, of New York City, recently cele-
brated their 25th wedding anniversary in Atlantic City, N. J. Mr.
Cohen is a brother of Mrs. A. Cutler, of Collingwood Ave.
Isadore Ball and Irwin Cohn were among 500 delegates to. the
anual mid-winter conference of the national planning committee
of The Jewish Theological Seminary of America, held in Miami
Beach, and attended the dinner meeting on Feb. 13 at Hotel diLido
which closed the conference.
Harry Yudkoff, vice-chairman of the structure committee of
the Supreme Lodge of Bnai Brith, will attend the meeting of the
national administrative board of Bnai trith• in Dayton, 0., Feb. 27
and 28.
Mr. Hyman Lieberman, of 13440 Northfield, Oak Park, Mich.,
recently returned from his second trip to Israel, and was joined
by Mrs. Lieberman for a trip to• New York. They returned home
on Monday.
Mr. and Mrs. Merle Bronstein, of 19197 Steel, recently honored
their son, Harvey Stewart, with a buffet supper at Holiday Manor,
in celebration of his Bar Mitzvah. The Bar Mitzvah was observed
on Feb. 12, at Cong. Ahavas Achim. •
Mr. and Louis Schwartz, of 5129 W. Outer Dr., honored their
daughter, Shirley, with a sweet sixteen luncheon last Sunday, in
the Mayfair Room. Fifty guests were present to help Shirley
celebrate.
Mrs. Ray Krause, of 2665 W. Boston, is celebrating her 79th
birthday today.
Mr. and Mrs. Myer Kellman, former Detroiters now of Los
Angeles, Calif., will leave Saturday night by El Al Constellation
for Tel Aviv. Prior to their trip, the Kellmans stopped in Detroit
to attend the Bar Mitzvah of the grandson, David Gimbel, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Michael Gimbel, of Santa Barbara Dr.
Mr. and Mrs. Max Lampert, of Sturtevant Ave., will leave
Saturday night aboard an El Al Constellation for Tel Aviv. They
will participate in the Hadassah Air Tour, and will also visit their
relatives in Israel.
- Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Lux, of Pennington Dr., recently enter-
tained their daughter, Marilyn, at a sweet sixteen luncheon in
Carl's Chop House. .Forty girls helped her celebrate. A party that
same evening was given in her honor for 20 couples.
