Zedek, will address the groUp at
a meeting on March 16. Young
men and women, 25 to 40, are
invited to attend both programs.

Business Briefs
All new members 'of the De-
troit Section, National Council
of Jewish Women, will be honor-
ed at a luncheon meeting of
Council at 12 noon, March 7,
in the Woodward Jewish Center.
The program will introduce
Council's functions in the corn-
munity to the n e w members
through a skit to be presented
bs Councilettes, junior groups,
and a special "I've Got a Secret"
panel.
Mrs. Victor Shiffman, vice=
president of the community pro-
gram, states that among the
Council's efforts in the com-
munity are a golden age pro-
gram for older people, a shel-
tered workshop for handicapped
and scholarship loans for stu-
dents.
Its most recent -project, Mrs.
Shifman says, is the Friendly
Visitors, in which members co-
operate with the Jewish Social
Service Bureau in welcoming
newly arrived immigrants and
showing them where to shop and
how to get accustomed to corn-
munity life.

ing is open to the entire paid-

In a candlelight ceremony on
Feb. 6, at Beth Aaron Synagogue,
Helen R. Kertes, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Kertes, of
Port Huron, MiCh., was united in
marriage to Harold Guz, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Morris Guz, of
San Juan Dr. Rabbi Charles
Rosenzweig, Rabbi Benjamin H.
Gorrelick and Cantor Judah
Goldring officiated.
The bride wore a ballerina-
length gown of white, chantilly
lace, which featured a portrait
neckline and a full skirt of
pleated, white, nylon tulle. Her
fingertip veil of illusion was held
in place by a crown of match-
ing lace, st u d,d e d with seed
pearls, and slik carried a bouquet
of white orchids on white Bible
Mrs. Joseph Roth, sister of
the bride, was her matron of
honor, a n d bridesmaids were
Mrs. Robert Simon and Mrs ;
Sidney Wolin, the bridegroom's
sisters, and Mrs. Larry Cantor
and Marilyn Ambdur. Sherry
Roth.. and Carol Wolin, the
bride's niece s, were junior
bridesmaids.
Morris Fierberg served as the
bridegroom's best man, and the
ushers included Sidney Wolin,
Robert Simon, Aaron Kraft and
Mickey Sterh.
Following dinner and a recep-.
tion ' in the synagogue social
hall, the couple left for a two-
week honeymoon in Miami
Beach, Fla. On their return,
they will take up residence on
Greenfield Rd.
Out-of-town guests here for
the wedding were from ,ePort
Huron, Flint, Pittsburgh, and
New York.
