. Novel Edison Program
Detroit EdiSon has launched
an informational program aimed
at showing customers how prop-
er tree planting helps in main-
taining good electric service.
As a key feature of the pro-
gram, the company has prepared
a booklet, "Planting For Perma-
nent Beauty," which suggests
trees and shrubs that thrive in
this climate; tells where, when
and how they are best planted;
and explains the reasons why.
The booklet—available at Edison
customer offices — stresses the
damage improperly selected and
planted trees can cause, and asks
cooperation in planned planting
that will benefit the homeowner
and his community.
It is pointed out that most of
the interruptions of electric
service caused by storms are the
direct result of falling trees and
limbs, and that damage brought
about by normal tree growth also
is,wbstantial.
