Phillip Sarles of Mayflower Congregational Church, will re- ceive a joint citation on behalf of both adjacent congregations, for their example of brother- hood in action. The Rt. Rev. Richard S. Em- rich, Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Michigan and presi- dent of the Detroit Counsii of Churches, headed the commit- tee of judges for the Award, which is given each year to "a citizen of Michigan who con- tributes profoundly and creative- ly to the betterment of inter- group relations in the state and nation."
